Breaking barriers to education from primary school through higher learning
Poverty remains the biggest barrier to education in Kilifi County. Many families struggle to pay school fees, buy uniforms, or provide basic learning materials. As a result, talented and motivated students are forced to drop out, perpetuating cycles of poverty.
Even when students manage to enroll, hidden costs like exam fees, transportation, and textbooks create additional obstacles that prevent them from completing their education.
Farina Foundation takes a comprehensive approach to education support, addressing both financial and non-financial barriers to ensure students can not only enroll but thrive in school.
"They went a step further and fundraised for me to get the basic requirements and fees and I joined the college in April 2026. I am deeply grateful for their help and I am committed to complete my training so that I can also support others in future.
— Faith Nachiro Ndune , Kenya Medical Training College Port Reitz campus
